Jeb Dunnuck
A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series reveals a deeper ruby/purple color as well as loads of black fruits, tobacco leaf, cured meats, and bouquet garni notes. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, has background oak, and terrific overall balance. Give bottles 3-4 years and it will keep for 15-20+ years.

James Suckling
Tar and dark berry aromas with hints of dark chocolate. Full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. A bigger, more fruit-forward style. Drink or hold.
-
Decanter
Great intensity of blackcurrant leaves, mint, black cherries and cigar box. Well integrated, medium tannin with a long finish.

Wine Enthusiast
This wine is a blend of fruit from Woodward Canyon Estate, Champoux, Sagemoor and Spring Creek vineyards. Despite seeing just 50% new oak, aromas of baking spice and vanilla are at the fore at present, in front of notes of herb and cherry. The palate brings a suave feel, with a lovely sense of texture, dipping in the middle before coming back together. The oak influence is intense right now. Give it time to settle in. Best after 2023.

The winery has consistently produced premium, age-worthy, award-winning Cabernet Sauvignons and Merlots as well as Chardonnays. From the outset, Rick determined that quality would take precedence over quantity.
Consequently, Woodward Canyon has remained small. Woodward Canyon is located in Lowden in the Walla Walla Valley appellation. The tasting room is a restored 1870's farmhouse.
Woodward Canyon is a founding member of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance and VINEA, the Walla Walla Valley Winegrowers' Sustainable Trust.
Washington produces so many exciting wines, and that definitely includes Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. With over 10,000 acres under vine, Cabernet Sauvignon is now the most widely-grown varietal in the state. Terrific examples hail from sub-appellations like Red Mountain, Wahluke Slope, Horse Heaven Hills and Walla Walla Valley. One of the fascinations of these Columbia Valley Cabs is that they so often seem to have one foot in the New World and one in the Old. Representing the former are characteristics like the ripe, forward fruit that results from long sunny days during the growing season (up to two hours longer than in much of California). Old World similarities include an undeniable brightness from acidity, as well as notes of herbs, graphite and a dusty, sometimes gravelly minerality.
Whether you’re looking for a budget bottle for everyday enjoyment, or a stellar, world-class wine with tremendous aging potential, Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wines can deliver the goods! Among the many fine options are bottles from Columbia Crest, Chateau Ste. Michelle, L’ecole #41, Quilceda Creek and Leonetti.
