Winemaker Notes

In the glass, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc is a light straw color. The nose offers abundant aromas of mandarin oranges, lemon blossom, and wet stone. In the mouth, the wine’s rich texture and weight are showcased with aromas of green apple, melon, and delicate passionfruit.

Blend: 81% Sauvignon Blanc, 19% Semillon

Professional Ratings

  • 92
Blended with 19% Sémillon cofermented in stainless steel, this is from the producer's estate in the eastern outskirts of the valley. Herbal legume, metal and stone are light in weight and style, with lovely, lasting flavors of green apple, apricot and tangerine.
  • 91

Aromas of fresh green pear, lemon zest, flint and some white pepper. It’s light-to medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Wet stones on the finish. Drink now.

Volker Eisele Family Estate creates enticing wines from the Napa Valley. Organically farmed since 1974, the Estate produces wines of uncommon balance and finesse. All fruit for our limited production wine is grown in our Chiles Valley District vineyard. The elevation and northwesterly Pacific winds funneling through the valley, create a longer cooler growing season. This combination of factors yield aromatic, crisp fruit with bright acidity and structed tannins. Our decades of experience in farming one vineyard means the quality of our wine is consistent year in, year out.

Our winemakers’ philosophy is, “To use a light hand in crafting varietally-correct wines that make the taster think about where they were grown, and not who made them.

~ Molly Lippitt, Winemaker
