Winemaker Notes
Aromas of ripe raspberry, dark cherry, pipe tobacco, orange pekoe tea, and ripe plum. The palate is full and round with flavors of black raspberry, caramel, vanilla, dark plum, and candy cane beets with a long velvety finish.
Pairs well with Veal Osso Bucco, pork fired rice or vegetarian lasagna.

This delivers a smooth and creamy impression with lightly spiced, cedary red cherries and a subtly earthy edge. The palate has a very fresh and crunchy feel with assertive oak tannins sitting up at the finish. Needs to settle. Try from 2020.

Medium ruby-purple, the 2016 Pinot Noir Extrovert blossoms slowly on the nose: blackberries, blueberries and black cherries give way to notes of potting soil, tar, dried herbs and floral touches. The palate is concentrated and plushly fruited, firm but juicy and with a long finish. Well done!

Mixed floral aromas of clover and violets open into a mélange of mulberries and blueberries. Sourced principally from YamhillCarlton fruit, this hints gently at earth and stem. Aging 18 months in 40% new French oak adds a lightly toasty note.

At Tendril, Tony has taken a deep breath and scaled way back. While quality is at the uncompromising high level one would expect, quantity is limited to around 500 cases per year and to Pinot Noir only. Similar to Mike Januik's story in Washington State, there's hardly a great grower in Oregon who would not be happy to provide Tony with whatever fruit he desires, and the best possible fruit attainable he does indeed get. Though he managed a large cellar staff at Domaine Serene, Tony and assistant winemaker Samantha Poehlman, also a Domaine Serene alum, perform every task at Tendril themselves. The results have been breathtakingly beautiful.
