Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2019 Cabernet Franc Copeland Vineyard is a beauty in the glass with a floral nose, red-fruited richness and floral minerality interwoven with a whole-berry freshness popping with red cherries. Medium-bodied, the wine carries mineral undertones, introducing nuanced layers, and it has a fruity and fresh finish. It's best enjoyed with food; decanting is recommended.

A light-bodied wine with silky tannins and a smooth mouthfeel. Macerated strawberries and blackpepper aromas lead the way, followed by bursts of tart cranberries and wet concrete. Flavors include blackberries, fresh-turned garden soil and an earthy touch of oregano. Aged in neutral French oak for two years.

His vision is to make Old World style lower-alcohol, balanced, and expressive wines. He is continuing to deepen his core understanding of all stages in the vinification process, to put his philosophy of low-intervention winemaking into practice, where the grape, vineyard and vintage form a unique balance.
“SAVAGE” – echoes the struggle of the grape to withstand the stress of ripening, along with making wine that is true to the grape, site, and vintage.
“GRACE” – also his wife’s name, is symbolizing what he hopes to achieve as the end result a wine that is delicate, balanced, approachable yet expressive.
Cabernet Franc, a proud parent of Cabernet Sauvignon, is the subtler and more delicate of the Cabernets. Today Cabernet Franc produces outstanding single varietal wines across the wine-producing world. Somm Secret—One of California's best-kept secrets is the Happy Canyon appellation of Santa Barbara. Here Cabernet Franc shines as a single varietal wine or in blends, expressing sumptuous fruit, savory aromas and polished tannins.
