Winemaker Notes

Classic dry Provence Rosé. Beautiful pale pink in color with aromas of rich, fresh fruits, followed by hints of white flowers and minerals. This refined, delicate Rosé is both fresh and delicious. A perfect wine for all occasions.

A whirl ing, swirling perfume of rose, fresh linen, and apricot graces the nose while glittering acidity sparks notes of sea breeze and persimmon. Melon and candied ginger are bright on the midpal ate with a gleam of apricot and orange peel. Mineral tonality is the soul of this complex and elegant rosé.

COMMENTARY: The 2021 ROSE GOLD Rosé is tangy, bright, and full of life. TASTING NOTES: This wine shines with aromas and flavors of red fruit, sandalwood, and suggestion of spice. Pair it with fresh salmon and avocado handrolls. (Tasted: March 30, 2022, San Francisco, CA)

Rose Gold Winery Image
Rose Gold was created out of a love for Provence rosé. When you pour a glass on an afternoon with a friend you will be transported to the south of France where the love for this beautiful pink French wine began.

Owner Casey Barber is a native Texan and has been in Dallas now for almost twenty years. With a Master of Science from Baylor University, Casey spent the latter part of her twenties as a family nurse practitioner, her thirties at home raising her three children and now in her forties has harnessed a longtime love of Provence rosé into her own business.

About the Vineyards
Located fifty miles northwest of Saint Tropez, the vineyard is known for the maturity of its vines and low production which gives quality and full rich flavor and aroma to the wine. The vineyards are influenced by sea, sun and the winds that blow off the Mediterranean. The proximity to the sea, the unique composition of the soil and the efforts of our superb winemakers permits production of a truly great rosé.

Whether it’s playful and fun or savory and serious, most rosé today is not your grandmother’s White Zinfandel, though that category remains strong. Pink wine has recently become quite trendy, and this time around it’s commonly quite dry. Since the pigment in red wines comes from keeping fermenting juice in contact with the grape skins for an extended period, it follows that a pink wine can be made using just a brief period of skin contact—usually just a couple of days. The resulting color depends on grape variety and winemaking style, ranging from pale salmon to deep magenta.

Cotes de Provence Wine

Provence, France

View all products

Cotes de Provence is an extensive but valuable appellation that includes vineyards bordering the main Provencal appellations. Its sites vary from subalpine hills, which receive the cooling effects of the mountains to the north, to the coastal St-Tropez, a region mainly influenced by the warm Mediterranean sunshine.

Here the focus is on quality rosé, as it defines four fifths of the region’s wines. Following in the rosé footsteps, a lot of new effort is going into the region’s red production as well. A new generation has turned its focus on high quality Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan. Cotes de Provence white wines, which represent a miniscule part of the region as far as volume, are nonetheless worthy of consideration and can include any combination of Clairette, Semillon, Ugni Blanc and Vermentino.
