Winemaker Notes
Rare is a blend chiefly of Chardonnay, completed with Pinot Noir. The Chardonnay comes from the Montagne de Reims, which is renowned mainly for its Pinot Noir. Its most striking characteristic is its unusual expression of minerality.

Intense, yet retains the elegance and verve characteristic of the 1988 vintage. This is showing roasted elements of coffee, hazelnut and citrus confit, with a freshness and long brioche-tinged finish. Very vinous and dry, it's like a great white Burgundy with bubbles. Drink now through 2005. 400 cases imported.
