Winemaker Notes
The Pike Road Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is made from 100% Northern Willamette Valley fruit, sourced from 15-20 trusted
vineyard partners in the Willamette Valley, plus fruit from their own Estate Vineyards. By integrating fruit from multiple AVAs,
soils, elevations, and growers, Pike Road gains in complexity and keeps a competitive price point that allows everyone to enjoy
great wine from the Willamette Valley with intense color and flavors bursting out of the glass.

This medium-bodied dazzler is packing some brawny tannins to back rich flavors of red raspberries, bittersweet dark chocolate and a meaty quality similar to baked Thai chicken wings. Equally juicy aromas match blackcap raspberry jam with bursts of coriander and talc.

Decanter
A wonderful example of a Pinot Noir at a value, made from fruit from 15-20 different vineyards in the northern reaches of the Willamette Valley. The aromatics are spice-laden, with notes of Christmas spice, violets and crushed raspberries. The palate offers plenty of high-tone berry fruits, savoury herbs, minerality and a zippy mint finish.

Wine
We named this wine project Pike Road after the winding road that runs adjacent to our vineyards at the foothills of Oregon's Coast Range Mountains.
Pike Road is made from estate grown grapes and a smaller amount of fruit we purchase. We are committed to preserving small family farms here in the Willamette Valley through our relationships with partner growers, some of whom we have worked with for decades. This is the best place in the New World to grow Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, and we are so pleased to be here at Pike Road.
Home of some of the planet’s most amazingly elegant and expressive Pinot noir, the Willamette Valley is a pastoral, mixed landscape of green, bucolic rolling hills, dramatic forestlands and small, independent, friendly wine growers. As a leader in environmental stewardship, the valley has some of the nation’s most protective land use policies, with two-thirds of its vineyards farmed sustainably and over half, organically. While the valley claims a cool, continental climate, and is heavily influenced by the cold, moist winds of the Pacific Ocean, its warm and dry summers allow for the steady, even ripening of Pinot noir.
The potential of Willamette Valley Pinot noir continues to attract the investment of serious growers and winemakers both locally and from abroad, as naturally the finished wines bring accolades from professionals and enthusiasts. With a range of styles from delicate dried cherry, raspberry and hibiscus to stronger notes of truffle, mocha, plum and spice, a fine Willamette Valley Pinot noir is a perfect expression of both character and grace.
