Winemaker Notes
Bold and intense aromas of licorice, blueberry, couverture and aged tobacco. The palate is dense, dark and powerful with mulberry and blackberry fruit complimented by chocolate and aniseed. Luscious mouth filling tannins balance the rich fruit character to provide great length for this wonderfully intense wine.
Pairs well with Baked penne with marinara and mozzarella potato gnocchi, ceps and parmesan cheese

Decanter
Saturated black-red in colour, with sensually compelling aromas of dark fruits, incense and sweet leather. Pristine, pure and head-turning. On the palate, this has classic Napa fruit: dark, rich, welcoming yet profound, amply ripe yet saved from over-ripeness by the precision and freshness of its tannins as well as the innate grain and complexity of the fruit. 2018-2030.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The deep purple-black colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Single Vineyard offers red and black plums with warm blackberries, tilled soil and tar notes plus wafts of bouquet garni and garrigue. Medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, the mouth is elegant and fresh with lovely minerality on the long finish.

James Suckling
This is a mouthful yet it remains structured and polished with lots of tannins and fruit at the same time yet in balance. I like the light austerity to it all. Full body, round and fresh.

Jeb Dunnuck
Graphite, tobacco leaf, scorched earth, and lead pencil notes all emerge from the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Single Vineyard Yountville, which is firm, concentrated, and focused on the palate, with beautiful purity of fruit. Aged 18 months in 50% new French oak, this Bordeaux look-alike will benefit from short-term cellaring and should evolve gracefully for 15+ years.

Wine Enthusiast
This is a robustly tannic and powerful wine, its entry laced in peppercorn and crushed rock-like dust. Pencil shavings, dried herb, cedar and clove continue on the savory theme. An underlying earthiness barely tames the cassis-like fruit.

Newton was founded in 1977 by English businessman Peter Newton and his Chinese wife Su Hua. Peter Newton was already renowned as a pioneer of winemaking in the Napa Valley, having founded the Sterling Winery near Calistoga in the 1960s. The Newtons transformed one square mile of rolling hillside in Spring Mountain into one of the Napa Valley’s most prestigious estates, whose wines have graced the official dinners of several US presidents.
The Newton estate encompasses 170 acres of prime Napa Valley terroir, distributed over four separate, wholly owned vineyards: Spring Mountain, Yountville, Mount Veeder and Carneros.
Newton is renowned for producing wines that are uniquely characterful expressions of varietals emblematic of the Napa Valley, notably Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Working patiently with nature, we are committed to precision viticulture and winemaking techniques yielding wines that are acclaimed for their balance, harmony and full, abundant flavors.
