Winemaker Notes
Subtle apple and lime aromas are matched with a sense of wet, stony earth. This is lively and moderately tart, with a tingling acidity.
Ideal as an aperitif or with casual summer cuisine such as seafood salads, ceviche, or grilled shrimp.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
One of the finest values in the range is the 2019 Ladoix Le Clou d'Orge (Domaine Gagey), a bright and chiseled wine that evokes pear, waxy citrus peel, struck match and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, layered and incisive, it concludes with a saline, mouthwatering finish.

Wine Spectator
A sleek, mineral-driven white, underlined by brisk acidity and flavors of apple, vanilla and bread dough. Turns compact, except for the juicy finish.

One of the most popular and versatile white wine grapes, Chardonnay offers a wide range of flavors and styles depending on where it is grown and how it is made. While it tends to flourish in most environments, Chardonnay from its Burgundian homeland produces some of the most remarkable and longest lived examples. California produces both oaky, buttery styles and leaner, European-inspired wines. Somm Secret—The Burgundian subregion of Chablis, while typically using older oak barrels, produces a bright style similar to the unoaked style. Anyone who doesn't like oaky Chardonnay would likely enjoy Chablis.
Another charming village of the Côte de Beaune district of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, Ladoix-Serrigny produces mainly Premier Cru Pinot Noir, but also some Chardonnay. Interestingly, some of the villages’ Premiers Crus vineyards overlap with nearby Aloxe-Corton.
