Winemaker Notes

With an elegant, old world structure, this sophisticated Cabernet shows savory aromas of bouquet garni, rose petal, and cocoa. A robust core of blackberry and plum with notes of black currant and cigar box are framed with polished tannins on a rich, harmonious finish.

This powerful cabernet is a blend from multiple sources, including Seven Hills, Pepper Bridge and Ferguson vineyards. It leads with scents of carob and blackberry, giving way to darker, more fig-like flavors. It stays on the rails with a finessed tannic payload and just enough acidity to keep it aloft.

COMMENTARY: I have always been a fan of Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignons. The 2014 L'Ecole supports my feelings. TASTING NOTES: This wine is generous with ripe fruit and sweet oak aromas and flavors. Pair these lovely nuances with a standing rib roast. (Tasted: July 25, 2018, San Francisco, CA)
