Winemaker Notes
The fruit for this wine is sourced from throughout the central Vineyards of the Loire Valley. Direct pressing, the must is settled at low temperatures to favor the expression of citrus aromas. Fermentation in stainless steel occurs at 18-20°C during the first third of the fermentation and then adjusted to 13-14°C.
The wine’s subtle ginger, lemon, and lime aroma gives way to a vivacious palate that continues with a persistent gunflint and mineral finish.

COMMENTARY: The 2020 La Camensarde Sauvignon Blanc is tropical, fragrant, and nicely textured. TASTING NOTES: This lovely wine offers aromas and flavors of ripe citrus, dried earth, and hints of herbs. Pair it with lightly-battered fish n' chips. (Tasted; July 18, 2022, San Francisco, CA)
La Camensarde is a collaborative négociant project of several growers in the village of Bué, Sancerre. These vignerons have partnered to produce a classic example of Sancerre blanc and IGP Loire Valley Sauvignon. Bué lies southwest of the village of Sancerre itself, no more than a few minutes away by car. Residing on the left bank of the Loire river, it is here that you’ll find some of the Sancerre appellation’s most famous and familiar names, including Massanois’ own Jean-Max Roger, Lucien Crochet, Morin, and Pinard. Through these east and south facing slopes it is the Caillottes soils - tiny fragments of coarse Kimmeridgian limestone - that lend a deep mineral complexity to what is the world’s most famous expression of Sauvignon Blanc.
La Camensarde offers vibrant citrus and stone fruits, backed by a subtle expression of white flowers and the characteristic stony minerality that is driving force behind top quality Loire Sauvignon.
