Winemaker Notes

Pale yellow color with green hues. The aroma is fresh and vibrant with a base of rich tropical fruit but dominated especially when young, by fresh lime and lemongrass aromas as well as a fresh herb note. The palate shows a lovely fruit weight on the mid palate with flavors reminiscent of gooseberry and citrus and this is surrounded by a juicy, pure acidity giving the wine it's zesty exuberance with a fresh, dry finish.

How would you like a wine that simply defines New Zealand? The 2014 Giesen Sauvignon Blanc represents the region well. Perfectly poised with excellent flavors and balance of elements. Light straw, green color; fresh, inviting and zippy dried citrus aroma, fine depth; medium bodied, pert and bright on the palate; dry, medium acidity, well balanced; bright citrus and mineral flavors, excellent ripeness; medium finish.
