Scents of red cherry and beef broth have a chocolaty oak note on the periphery. The flavors are earthy and vinous, with plenty of tannins for duck confit. Best Buy.

The 2013 Erath Pinot Noir plays it light and delicate, a pure expression of the varietal, no bells, no whistles and no going too far- this is the way it should always be. Pair this with lightly grilled salmon. Light red, garnet color; dried strawberries, nice; medium depth; medium bodied, easy; dry, medium acidity, good balance; red fruit; medium finish. Drinks well now.
