The 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud is a real stunner, and one of the great under the radar gems on the Right Bank. The 2022 is an especially rich, heady wine. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, leather and gravel build in a heady, sumptuous wine that delivers the goods. Clos Puy Arnaud could easily challenge many more illustrious names on the Right Bank. –Antonio Galloni

A blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud displays a delicate yet complex bouquet with aromas of sweet cherries, loamy soils, iris, lilac, dark berries and hints of menthol. Medium to full-bodied, charming and fleshy, with powdery tannins, it's penetrating and saline. This estate is producing more and more characterful, high quality wines, and the the 2022 is one of the best ever.

The 2022 Clos Puy Arnaud should be outstanding. It has a forward, juicy, sexy style in its red, blue, and black fruits as well as medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, notes of smoked tobacco, chocolate, and earth, ripe tannins, and great finish. I love its overall balance as well as its length, and it's going to be a hidden gem in the vintage.

Clos Puy Arnaud, France
Winemaker Thierry Valette belongs to a generations’ old winemaking family which harvested grapes to vinify them in Algeria, Chile, the Loire valley, the Languedoc region and also in Bordeaux. In producing an honest and personalized wine (that is to say that could not be produced elsewhere), it remains possible that the current globalization of wine may also be the doyen of culture, singularity and humanity.

As a winemaker, the product requires that we often go beyond our limits in order to capture the energy of a particular space so as to release its flavors and aromas. This is what is done at Puy Arnaud. In addition to the capturing of the terroir, Valette took the path of biodynamic winemaking which, continually enriched, is the finest and most precise agricultural method to express a specific terroir.
