Winemaker Notes
Dark purple with vermillion-tinged edges, the plush and refreshing 2014 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon lures the taster with a multidimensional perfume that fills the glass with notes of jasmine, lavender, and spring flowers. Interwoven into the floral notes are unctuous layers of plum, blackberry, and black currants. Loads of smoked cardamom, cinnamon, and black licorice unwind onto the palate where the vibrant acidity carries the long finish to a state of balance and equilibrium.
Blend: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec, 2% Merlot

Jeb Dunnuck
The entry level cuvée from this great estate is a stunner that readers will be thrilled to have in the cellar. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Merlot, its dense purple color is followed by a ripe, muscular, sexy wine straight-up loaded with notions of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, damp earth, spring flowers, violets, and spicy oak. This big, rich, quintessential Napa beauty can be drunk today or any time over the coming 15-20 years.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Their basic Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is sensational and only hints at what consumers are likely to find with their more expensive and higher-end cuvées. This is just a stunner that is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc and the rest Malbec and Merlot. Dense purple in color, it has a beautiful nose of spring flowers, blackcurrants, subtle background oak and licorice and a long, opulent mouthfeel. This is a beauty that can be drunk now or cellared for another 15 more years. It is a heck of a wine and irresistible.

Cliff Lede Vineyards was established in 2002 by Canadian born Bordeaux enthusiast, Cliff Lede, following the acquisition of a sixty acre estate in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. With a focus on producing wines from estate vineyards, Lede tapped David Abreu, considered the best viticulturist in Napa Valley, to replant the vineyards. Lede decided to name each vineyard block after some of his favorite rock songs and albums—from “My Generation” to “Dark Side of the Moon,” creating what is known today as the Cliff Lede Vineyards “Rock Blocks.”
In 2005, a state of the art, 25,000 square foot winery and cave system was etched into a hillside overlooking the estate vineyards. Not only did Cliff create a beautiful property, he also assembled an unrivaled team that shares his passion for quality. Today, Winemaker Christopher Tynan crafts Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, with the flagship, Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the steep eastern hillside portion of the estate. In 2015, Cliff Lede Vineyards achieved both Napa Green Land and Napa Green Winery certification.
