Winemaker Notes
The ‘Galets’ are reminiscent of the terroir of rounded stones known as ‘grès’. Sculpted by the moraine of the Rhône glacier in the Quaternary Period, they characterize the Costières de Nîmes in the south of the Rhône Valley. This cuvee is a clear yellow with flashes of gold. Fruity (citrus and white-fleshed fruit), floral (broom shrub) and mineral (flint) notes on the bouquet. A quick attack on the palate with citric notes with a beautiful aromatic persistence. A silky and cool texture. A salty note, reminiscent of the sea breeze, makes up part of its finesse.
Ideal pairings include Brandade de Nîmes, tapas, pineapple roast pork, and goat cheese.

Soft aroma comes in a cloud; floral, mostly honeysuckle. This is naturalistic and approachable with deep set acidity, really vinous and fresh. Great vitality, intensity and textural exuberance, feels alive. Harmonious and well balanced. Quietly assured, a very good reflection of its place.

Tasting
Producing full-bodied white wines, Grenache Blanc can be unctuous and soft or floral and fresh. Some of the finest examples are terroir-driven, age-worthy wines. It is a key ingredient in white Châteauneuf-du-Pape and many white blends across southern France and NE Spain. Somm Secret—Grenache Blanc plays a key role in the vins doux naturels of Rivesaltes and a subsidiary role in those of Banyuls and Maury.
Gently rolling hills covered by large, round stones on south-facing slopes, Costieres de Nimes is a substantial IGP zone that was formerly considered part of the Languedoc. Today it is included as a section of the southern Rhone; its climate, topography and wines put it more in line with that appellation. Grenache is its most important red variety, along with Mourvedre, Syrah and Carignan. Half of the production here is rosé.
