Winemaker Notes

Pale green-gold color with aromas of Granny Smith apples with a hint of minerality. Refreshing demi-sec style with great fruit and intense, lively acidity.

Pairs well with all fish dishes, especially those with cream or mushroom sauces, chicken, veal or pork. Also lovely with salads or on its own as an aperitif.

Yields were low in 2019, but the team at Montfort credit moderate September rain for the maturity of the grapes that remained. This wine is a bit closed off when opened, a demi-sec that shows its texture and weight first. With air, it offers stone fruit, peach pits and skins next to some basil-y herbs. Decant it for chèvre, country bread and onion jam.
