This wine shows the fruit forward side of Sauvignon Blanc while retaining ample acidity for a beautiful balance. Notes of cut grass accent delicious flavors of lime, pear, melon, pineapple, and orange rind. Grassy and lychee aromas are present on the nose, a beautiful blend of tropical and cooler climate SB. With a touch of matchstick this wine needs a few minutes to open. Surprisingly rich for the amount of zingy acid. The acid keeps the palate fresh and lively and the body keeps you wanting more. The soft coating mouthfeel leads to a dry and lengthy finish.

Great acidity and vibrant citrus and fig flavors give this medium-bodied wine a lot to like. It is very well balanced, cleansing the palate and inviting another sip each time.

In 1998, the Brassfield family realized the land’s true destiny was as a world-class wine property. As a result, Brassfield Estate Winery & Vineyard was established. With the new estate vineyards increased production, the winery has grown with additional tank & barrel storage capacity and a state-of-the-art crushing facility.
Capable of a vast array of styles, Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp, refreshing variety that equally reflects both terroir and varietal character. Though it can vary depending on where it is grown, a couple of commonalities always exist—namely, zesty acidity and intense aromatics. This variety is of French provenance. Somm Secret—Along with Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc is a proud parent of Cabernet Sauvignon. That green bell pepper aroma that all three varieties share is no coincidence—it comes from a high concentration of pyrazines (herbaceous aromatic compounds) inherent to each member of the family.
Sitting on the northeast side of the Clear Lake appellation, this warm area boasts multiple soil types that allow growers a lot of flexibility and experimentation with grape varieties. While Sauvignon blanc is a mainstay, this zone excels with Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, as well as other less common varieties like Barbera and Tempranillo.
