Winemaker Notes
This Chenin Blanc was made from 100% Beaumont, Bot River fruit. Its punchy and full of character. The vintage produced plenty fruit with good concentration and a very long and slow fermentation. It is a delicious example of cooler climate Chenin Blanc fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Dry, fresh and delicious.
Great with seafood, especially shellfish and spicy Thai and Indian curries

Wine
Beaumont is a charming, family-run farm and winery situated in the quaint Overberg Village of the Bot River region. The farm is home to the region's oldest wine cellar and is steeped in history dating back to the 1700's. Jayne Beaumont founded Beaumont Wines in 1974 with Raoul, her now deceased husband - a free spirited, somewhat infamous and larger than life character.
Jayne had always made small quantities of wine and therefore the decision to start a wine farm and business was in fact out of necessity – they needed a home to cultivate both passion and grapes. Their journey continued as they embarked upon the craft of making wine on the then Compagnes Drift Farm, since renamed Beaumont. The farm was completely transformed by hard work, a spirit for adventure and a proper dose of crazy.
In 2004, Sebastian Beaumont, having honed his skills working in vineyards, took over the reins in the cellar and has continued to build the Beaumont reputation. The flagship Chenin Blanc, Hope Marguerite, has received Platter 5-Star ratings four times.
