Description
Join us as we taste our way through Italy with wine AND food! In this special tasting we’ll taste three incredible Italian wines, each paired with a specific dish from that region. All recipes have been selected by acclaimed Executive Chef Mark Sullivan of Bacchus Restaurant Group, which manages five restaurants, three of which are one star Michelin and two of which have earned a Wine Spectator Grand Award for their wine list. Our journey starts with a Verdicchio from the Marche region, then we taste a Nerello Mascalese from Sicily and we finish with an Amarone from Veneto. Wine.com host Gwendolyn Osborn leads this unique evening with the three Italian wine producers and Chef Mark Sullivan.

- Garofoli Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Podium
Podium is one of the leading examples of Verdicchio, from the best-known wine area of Marche, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC. It is made from 100% Verdicchio grown in the historic part of the denomination. The vineyard is atop a long flat-topped hill that is reminiscent of a speaker's stand or podium, giving the wine its name. - Tascante Ghiaia Nera
Aromatically the wine is full of just barely ripe red fruit flavors with cherries and cranberries. On the palate the wine is pleasantly crunchy with bright acidity and hints of orange zest and tart red fruit. - Tenuta Sant'Antonio Amarone Antonio Castagnedi
Ruby red with purple reflections. Aromas of ripe red fruit, spicy aromas of licorice, black pepper and hints of chocolate. On the palate the wine is well balanced, with fat tannins and is soft, warm, savory, elegant, fine and fresh.
