Winemaker Notes
Alberico White is a wine of bright yellow color with greenish tones. To the nose, very intense notes emerge which are persistent, complex and toasty, reminding citrus and exotic fruits, buttery sensations and vanilla. To the palate it is soft, harmonious, sapid, fresh, persistent and elegant. The Sémillon finds in the volcanic soil a very special personality that allows it to best express all its characteristics. The prolonged aging in cask enhances its roundness and makes the Alberico White a unique wine in its area.

Sémillon has the power to create wines with considerable structure, depth and length that will improve for several decades. It is the perfect partner to the vivdly aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. Sémillon especially shines in the Bordeaux region of Sauternes, which produces some of the world’s greatest sweet wines. Somm Secret—Sémillon was so common in South Africa in the 1820s, covering 93% of the country’s vineyard area, it was simply referred to as Wyndruif, or “wine grape.”
Known as the ancient homeland of the Latins, today there is a vigorus wine industry beyond the city limits of modern, bustling Rome. The Cesanese grape, full of red berry, spice and rose, is responsible for Lazio’s only true local reds. Lazio’s most famous white wine, called Frascati, is based on the local Malvasia del Lazio and Trebbiano Toscana. A sweet version, called Cannellino di Frascati, is also made.
